Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing

Private group bookings for families or work colleagues can be arranged across the Peak District, so we will have a convenient location near to your accommodation. With a choice of venues, difficulty and the ability to combine with other activities like abseiling or weaseling, rock climbing is an excellent inclusion on an activity day. For larger groups events, we can often set up a number of climbs in an area, which allows big groups to be together but still the opportunity to vary the challenge level within the group. From beginner sessions to full days out with a climbing instructor developing your technique, we can cater for all levels. Rock climbing works well as part of an activity rotation for corporate or stag/hen events. Get in touch for more details.

Scrambling

Whether it be the cloughs of the Peak District or a classic mountain route in the Lakes or Snowdonia, Peak Instruction can guide you on some of the UK’s most stunning rocky landscapes. With instructors holding the highest level of UK qualifications, we are able to take you anywhere you want to go. For a more gentle, yet still fun form of local scrambling, check out our Weaseling page.

Abseiling

Traditionally used to access the bottom of cliffs to get to the rock climbs, abseiling has now evolved into an activity in its own right. Push yourself and experience one of the best adrenalin rushes around! Some of the Peak District’s ancient abandoned quarry faces now find use as the perfect venues for abseiling. A great experience for groups or individuals of any age and ability. We can do this at a number of different venues. See details on the abseiling specific page here.

Bouldering

Becoming more and more popular, bouldering brings the skills and techniques of rock climbing to ground level. Different to traditional climbing, when we boulder we stay low, traversing the cliffs and climbing short walls. We can protect ourselves with pads and by ‘spotting’ each other and we always aim to teach the skills necessary to safeguard yourself and each other, whether child or adult.
We can tailor our bouldering activities to suit any timescale and they give a large amount of active time. A great activity for groups and families or just something different to try.

Indoor Walls and Rock Climbing Towers

All the fun and skill of real rock but a bit more comfortable in the rain!
Rain or shine, artificial walls and towers are great places to get climbing. Often available after dark and on the wettest of days, but not just for the bad days, climbing wall sessions are great for training or as an introduction to the world of climbing.
