We offer equipment hire to fellow outdoor activity providers and BCA member caving clubs in the Peak District area. At this time we do not hire to the public.
All equipment will be provided in clean and dry condition. Any items of PPE will have had a formal inspection in the last 6 months and a further condition and function check prior to being hired out. Reports of the last formal inspections can be provided for PPE (please request at time of booking). Cleaning time as well as general wear & tear is taken into account in the item hire costing. Hirers will be asked to sign an agreement for any equipment they take, and losses or damage caused by careless use will be billed for at the full cost of a new replacement (or equivalent if that item is no longer available to purchase new). Equipment is to be collected and returned to our New Mills equipment store. Other collection arrangements can potentially be made depending on our availability, but will incur an additional cost for transport and time taken.
Caving Helmets & Lights
We have up to 8 sets of caving helmets available for hire. These are Petzl Panga helmets and Petzl PIXA 2 or PIXA 3 lights.
A set of new or fully charged AA batteries are provided inside each caving light.
The lights and helmets can be hired separately if needed. Please enquire.

Caving Oversuits
We have a range of over 40 caving suits covering sizes XXS to 5XL available for hire. These are mostly Warmbac Centre Suits with thinner upper body fabric and heavy duty lower half. There are some Beaver oversuits in the smaller sizes. Most suits have a colour coded collar for easy size recognition.
You will need to list the size of suits that you require and the Warmbac size chart can be seen on their website here. If unsure, select a suit one size above the size you would fit into according to the chart. This accounts for thick under layers. A caving belt is supplied as standard unless not required. These should be used to help keep the suit up if it is a little large or long, and reduces wear on the leg bottoms.
Caving Undersuits
We have a range of over 20 caving fleece undersuits covering sizes XXS to XL available for hire. These are mostly Lomo diver undersuits, Warmbac undersuits or bespoke suits made to standard sizes. They are a mid-weight fleece and suitable for most UK caving, although very wet trips might require the use of a wetsuit or additional layering underneath.
You will need to list the size of suit that you require.
Caving Belts
We have around 20 heavy duty caving belts. These are Caving Supplies black and red type with twin 2-link buckles. They are provided with any oversuits that are hired as standard to help keep baggy suits from dragging on under the heels. Belts are provided for suit fitting only and should not be used as PPE.
Wellington Boots
We have around 60 pairs of wellington boots covering size Junior UK10 through to adult UK14 available for hire. These are mostly Dunlop Pricemaster or Acifort models with rubber soles, but also include some other branded models with non-plastic soles.
Dunlop wellingtons are often a little larger than the listed size, however please account for the space to fit thick socks inside when listing the sizes you need to hire.

Availability
Availability of hire equipment is subject to other bookings and cannot be guaranteed. You should contact us to discuss your needs in plenty of time ahead of your intended collection date. Last minute hire is possible, however will depend on our availability and the time needed to prepare equipment for collection.
