A Double Bowline on the Bight can be tied rethreaded to save on the use of mailons of krabs. This characteristic is similar to the Bowline on the Bight.
First we are tying a Double Bowline as follows. Make 2 twists in the rope
Pass the end of the line through the 2 twists in the same way you would to form a normal Bowline.
The resulting knot is a Double Bowline
Now you need to create a tail large enough to form your second loop. So feed some rope through the Double Bowline to end up with a long tail. Begin to rethread the tail as shown below
Continue to follow the same path as the original loop
Until finally you emerge from the bottom of the knot parallel to the main strand of rope
Dress the knot correctly and tighten down to form your Double Bowline on the Bight
