About Us

Before you book, you probably want to know a little bit more about us. We are a small firm with big goals. Our niche in the market is quality, not quantity. We are often the group out at any given location with the smallest instructor to participant ratio. All our bookings are equally important, whether running a family taster day or a completely bespoke large event. Here at Peak Instruction we can cater for any type of group. Our main client base is private groups and individuals but we are just at home providing corporate activity packages or specialist subcontracting. We can deliver programmes across the UK ranging from charity abseils in your city to adventure activity packages for families. Check out our private bookings page or the public activities page for details on what we do. Please note that we only run activities with under 18s if a parent or court appointed guardian is present and participating.

I’ve been based in the Peak District since 2007 & have worked for lots of different activity providers over the years. Previously I have been based on the North York Moors and was a Senior Instructor at a small activity centre there. Over my career, I’ve worked with all types of client groups; youth groups, mixed background, skills courses, management, mixed ability & hen/stag groups as well as one to one coaching with other instructors.

I hold the Cave Instructor Certificate, the top qualification for cavers in the U.K.
I am actively involved in Derbyshire Cave Rescue and cave conservation projects. I’m currently chairman of the Darkside Caving & Mining Club and a member of P.I.C.A. (Peak Instructed Caving Affiliation).
My other loves include bushcraft and photography but I can honestly say that there is not a single activity I do not enjoy instructing and taking part in myself.

I have always been passionate about the outdoors, with a particular interest in caving and walking. Growing up in Sheffield with the Peak District on the doorstep was great & from an early age I gained a love of the outdoors. I have worked across the UK as an outdoor activities instructor since 2003, and I am experienced at working with of all types of client groups, including schools, youth groups, special needs & skills courses. I too have worked for many of the Peak District’s activity providers and centres giving me a great knowledge of the area and the different activities that can be done there.

Associates

In addition to Pete & Beth, we have a pool of trusted associates who also deliver courses and private days on our behalf. This staff pool covers top climbers, cavers, trainer/assessors, bushcraft experts and many more. Each and every one of our associates is personally known to us and vetted. We’ve worked alongside, or in some cases for, each person and trust them to deliver the standard we set for quality and safety.

Please read our Terms & Conditions before making a booking. Peak Instruction does not operate with unaccompanied under 18’s. We are an adult and family group only organisation.
